That kid got a killer deal on a cool car , that's for sure .

While my wife's jetta was failing her emissions test this morning , I specifically asked the guy about the 5,000-mile exemption deal . According to him , you take the car in , verify that you've had it at least a year and have gone under 5 grand , they key in the info & file it as "exempt" . That's it , not even an official visual inspection .he said that PA's not trying to ban modified cars , they just don't want 'em used everyday , hence the 5-thou grace .

I went down to my garage & looked at my mileage ... The SVT's actually gone a hair under 1,800 miles since last May . What a waste !!

The wife's Jetta failed it's test because it needs a new gas cap , BTW . I'm picking one up at the dealer tomorrow (~ $7) . It will become my "Official Jetta Emissions Inspection gas cap" .
