1997 Ford Contour,DuratecV6, 5-speed
I had my 97 Ford Contour in for the cat failure, and was able to get it covered under the 80,000mile warranty.
( 80,301miles) After the repairs were completed, the dealership called to inform me that my upper & lower intake gaskets are leaking. The eng light apparently came back on after they finished the cat repair, and were running additional diagnostics. I was not convinced, so I brought the car home with the eng light on. I know I have an oil leak on top of the eng, probably the valve cover gasket, so I will have to tear into this anyway. Has anyone got any info on these air intake gaskets.Has anyone had these gaskets leak? The car runs fine, but I am afraid if I do not fix the leaks, I will do some other damage? Help!
