Today has been incredibly frustrating. This morning, I got my car back, and the dealer suggested a front end alignment. Since I have a policy with Tires Plus, I told them I'd take it there to have it taken care of. I took it to Tires Plus, and after three attempts, the car still pulls to the right harder than Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson combined. The technician asked if I knew what torque steer was, which I replied yes, and no, that is not it. If it was torque steer, the car would pull straight while in neutral which it isn't. They then said there are no adjustments to be made on my car and that for $70, they can move my subframe for me. They claim the car is in perfect alignment despite the strong pull.

I'm frustrated to no end. Though, I am very happy to have my Contour back, it was awkward to reach for a shifter and clutch that weren't present on the Taurus Type R.

Please tell me you are kidding!

Otherwise, you may want to check and find out if the car was wrecked. That could cause it. And if the subframe is out of alignment take it back to where you got it form and make them fix it! You should have at least 90 days on a a car purchase.

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Did you ask for an alignment spec sheet?

As for the Taurus Type R, that's what I refer to the Rental spec cars. They seem to be fine cars that nobody would purchase new as their first choice, at least in the case of this car. It was a seafoam green Taurus SE with the Vulcan engine. Large car with crap for performance. As for the alignment spec sheet. I got the printouts of where my car is.
