In my system, channels 7 & 8 are bridged to power a single 10" sub. Though the single channel power is 40 watts, bridged power is 120 watts.

I can assure you this is, as Dave stated, more than enough power to achieve a sufficient level of bass response from a sub that is rated from 75 to 350 watts.
