That depends on the amp and the sub.
The Sony amp I'm assuming being mentioned is either the Sony XM-3001SXD or SM-6001GXD.
Either amp's output is actually 300x1 rms (continuous power) at 4ohms and 14.4V. 1000w (or 1200w for the 6001) is their max power rating, which IMO is by and far meaningless.
The 12" Perfect 4ohm sub is rated to handle 350w rms. I don't see the either amp overpowering the sub.
