Originally posted by epattonm: It wasn't a recall. It was a campaign. I spent a total of an hour with the 800 # Ford uses for satisfaction and stuff. THey did it out of a courtesy to their customers they said. It's not a safety concern. Then when I really whined about it, they looked up my car, and told me that my car wasn't built in one of the few locations that the campaign covered, so there was absolutely nothing they could do. I was upset cause I have the Premium ESP, and they didn't care about that at all. My dealer was good though, and quoted me at $335 for everything, which was accounting for complete removal of the dash. They said 3 hours = $240 in labor, then the $70 for the kit and tax, and some weird fees. I am doing it during spring break (I hope).
They put the Kit in mine, they did not replace the dash. The dealer said it was a safety concern as the defroster vent could be blocked by the peeled up dash. It was a TSB and not a NHTS safety recall, but I bet if you insist it is a safety problem, you may get some help...
