While I agree GSM has grown, if you aren't in a city, or perhaps on an interstate between two nearby major cities, you don't have a phone. Analog roaming is a requirement for any phone that travels.

For this type of application, Palm OS is a lot more sensible than the Pocket PC. It provides more than a needed amount of computing power in a much more efficient (memory and battery life) platform.

Of course, each side will have its devotees on platform. My main problem with the blackberry, the Siemens here, the Samsungs, the Audiovox Thera, and every other PDA phone I have seen is that it's a PDA with a microphone beneath the screen and an earpiece above. The phone is a tacked on afterthought. The Kyocera is the only model I have seen that is actually usable as a phone, plus having the full PDA functionality. The clamshell flip design of the 7135 also protects the delicate screen from damage.

Keep in mind I am a current Verizon Kyocera SmartPhone 6035 owner.
