OK, I am about to order the Lambda Acoustic PB-10 4 ohms...is it worth to go 12" for an extra 10 bucks?

In short, if you can spare the extra 1/2 cu ft, yes.

Cool...I think I am set,,,My system will be:

HU: JVC LD-X300 Kamaleon
planet audio HTV-752 tubed amps (2)
Kenwood KAC 602 200 watts for the Sub
PLanet Audio PCKx 4" component speakers (45-20Khz), soft dome tweeter.
and Finally the LAMBDA ACOUSTICS PB-12..just placed the order...

Finally I think its a well integrated system

I'm a solid state man in the home and car but tube amps for the car sound very cool. I think that kind of sound would work very well in the hostile audio environemnt of the Contour.

i have some Pioneer separates for sale in the classifieds that may meet your needs... 55-25Khz... not as low as you're looking at, my reserve is set @ $70, so you may get a good deal!

My Alpine components can do 30Hz but it is not the same as a subwoofer. A 6.5" speaker can only displace so much air. Even with proper sealing the speaker con't compare to a sub for bass purposes, and you can muddy up the rest of the music without enough power. My deck is 60x4 and when I was using the components for bass (before I got the Lambda) it sounded horrible. Even hooked up to my Amp it still sounded wrong.
