Rara who is AP?

I think he was talking of Antonio Pizzonia who wadded up an S-type (IIRC) while doing a track session with a passenger. Vid was on here a while back.

One of the reasons I follow auto racing is for the beauty and aesthetics of the car.
I believe F1 hits it's heyday in the eighties in regards to sharp looking cars. Seemed almost everyone had different looking bodies. Today, they all look like clones of one another and there is little distinction between the group. I know, technology drives the design, but it seems as though the series is fielded by spec cars. Paint them all the same color and one can barely tell the difference between a Mclaren, Jaguar, Minardi, etc.
Even NASCAR makes are beginning to look the same.
However, the Daytona Prototypes has a big distinction between makes which attracts me to the series. The Multimatic Ford, Doran, Picchio, etc., look quite different from eachother which I believe is one of the strength of the series.
BTW, the FW26 has posted the top speeds in pre-season testing. Maybe the clones are not far behind!

Far be it from me to kick a sportscar fan in the teeth... but you think Daytona Prototypes are more diverse than prototypes in the ALMS?

Quit whining, you aren't a Has-been, you're a never-was

If I had been referring to you, it would have read JayBee

And AP is Antonio Pizzonia, and the S-type story is a bit more than what bigmoney said, he had three Jag top-level execs in the car with him. IIRC in the in-car vid you can hear one of the execs stating that they were going to die.

Actually, IIRC the Ferrari Aerodynamiscist recently left to go to Williams.
