Yeah thats a cheap battery tray. The one I want is about $80-100. But it worked at the time when the 3L engine went in and I became broke. So originally the battery was relocated to the trunk during my engine install. After that the idea for the Amps came into play. Yes I worried about screwing the flooring down also, but I used small screws and didnt harm a thing. Im sure others have better ideas for that. Thanks for the comments.
That is a nice clean install. Did you do all the work? I have a full system in my garage that needs to be installed and my roommate was supposed to do the install 6 months ago. Wondering if there is a good place to go in the area for the install.
I measured & built the the base, carpeted, etc. The only thing I didn't do was wire it up. I also had a new Clarion Stereo installed, So a Stereo Shop did all the electric stuff(Monster Cables). Im not to familiar with that.
Looks great! You should build your own wood(or fiberglass) + plexi box for that battery.
When I built mine I wanted to be able to access the spare easily and be able to return it to stock in minutes(ironically in case of an accident). The only bad thing was that it became wedged in after the accident and I couldn't remove anything other than the equipment. I would have liked to give the pieces to someone else to put in their Contour.
