Another engine.

j/k

My heads are already sold and delivered. My engine is cracked open again all over the ground, the transmission is too.
I am going to try working with oval port 3L heads and see what I can make from them and then there are many little things I want to try changing with my turbo so I'm working on that also.
The transmission is tore open so I can see just what kind of wear and tear it has undergone since it has been supporting over 300 wHP on the street and strip. The good news is that there has been no apparent problems with the synchro's, forks or anything with the installation of the Torsen. Everything looks awesome except for a slightly different wear pattern on my final drive since I put the Torsen in. It is aligned slightly different than it was with the stock diff so the wear pattern has shifted more to one side of the ring gear. It seems to have manifested itself as a very muted gear whine at higher cruising speeds that I could only hear with the windows up and radio off.
I'm thinking the solution should be to reposition the diff and ring gear a little bit to one side.
The problem with that is there are no shims on the side of my case where the diff needs to move. Either the diff or the case will have to be machined down a little bit to move it and reposition the diff a little bit, then a shim of the same thickness will have to be put on the other side where there are already several.
Or I can just leave it since there is nothing technically wrong about it. I just don't want any possibility of imperfection in a critical area.

So to be honest I'm killing a bunch of birds with one stone...fixing all the little things about my setup that I didn't like and hopefully will result in the whole thing being even better than it was before, good driveability and large power included.

Cool, you keeping the 2.5 intake manny's or trying the 3L?

Get knowledgable on tranny's so you can do mine if I decide on another combo...

I offer PnP Heads for all durtec's details at PnPheads.com or jesse@pnpheads.com for details.
