Why is it nigh impossible to make 360 crank?
Rating turbo's in Horsepower is foolish anyway as far as I'm concerned since they are technically rated in volume of flow. What you do with the flow is what makes horsepower. That is to say that tuning plays a very important role. Dump too much fuel in with the 1000 HP turbo and you could end up making only 350 HP wherease take a turbo rated at 325 HP and make 360 HP with good tuning and some other factors.
Don't forget the BSFC, brake specific fuel consumption of the motor will play a role in how efficient it is.
I have to brag by the way that my engine made significant power, a max of 303 wHP with only 5.75 psi boost and only 36#/hour injectors on 91 octane fuel. I take some credit since the intake system, more than half of the piping and the head work were all my own, but some of that is a damn good efficient engine from Ford too.
