Tweeter is producing a high frequency, if you put it to high up that's all you are going to hear. I angled them upward in this panel I made in the factory location. Have you ever seen custom car systems with kickpanels by your feet and the tweeter is also mounted below the mid and that's almost at the floor.
What we are doing by this set up is trying to create a balanced soundstage without getting into costly custom installation.
If the tweeter's are too high that's all you are gonna hear and after a couple of weeks or so you might become quite sick of it. Putting them low will balance better with the mid so it's a more accurate blended sound.
