Well, I don't know what to tell you my father works for Bosch. Blaupunkt is owned by Bosch. I wanted to get that amp and the technicians talked me out of it. They said in some application you may lose you FM radio. I dunno how or why but thats what they said and now they no longer make that amp.

Were these the technicians that worked on the "Plus 4" Sparkplug? That would explain things!

Well, I have not heard anything bad about the plugs till now if you donā??t like them donā??t by them. Many people use these plugs with no problems. This is not about the plugs but if you want to talk about them I would be glad to do so. Back to the real topic... DO you have one of the PA amps? DO you know anyone who has one? If not then how do you know I am not telling the truth? I was just making a statement of what I have heard from the people who make the product. If he bought the amp and it affects his FM then he is going to be pissed. I donā??t want him to waste the $88...

Geez... It was a joke.
I don't have any of the PA amps. They were too expensive when I went thru my last buying frenzy, and I'm a value buyer. Of the different audio message boards I frequent and in 12 or so years of dealing with car audio, I have never, ever, ever, ever, ever heard of an amplifier causing the radio signal to "go out". All they do is amplify the signal sent by the HU. There are many cases where they can discolor or add some form of distortion to the signal, but that would be for all sources - CD/Tape/AM/FM/DAT/MP3/etc...
Bottom Line: I don't doubt that you're telling the truth about what he said to you. But... you either misunderstood what the technician was trying to tell you, or he had no idea what he was talking about.

I tried to find the overdrive series to no avail. What I would like to get would be the overdrive series 6x9's and componets + a good 4 channel blau amp to power the whole set up

Will the new stuff still work in the mounting spot for the factory amp? Will overheating be an issue? Will you need to run new wire with this amp?

Interesting...I have a PA amp. I also noticed my fm signal has gotten weaker but never thought to tie the 2 together. Ill try disconnecting my amp and see if i get my signal strength back. Should be an easy test since my signal seems to consistantly die as i pull into my apt complex. Dont see how they would effect each other but its worth a shot because it pisses me off at times. If thats the culprit ask your dad to honor a replacement for a later model equal or greater in value..

I agree.
I would be curious to talk to someone who had this happen. I am considering selling my McIntosh and buying 7 of these. I honestly don't see the correllation to FM reception. I wonder if the switches run in the same freq range as FM....hmmm

I am unsure if it will fit here is a pic, side 1 , side 2 , Top Dimensions (in) 9.2x2.0x9.5 (from blaupunkts web page) I have not yet hooked them up to see how much heat they produce, you could always get a fan like people do when they mount there amp in a sealed area. If the amp is mounted in the factor amps spot you wouldn't have to rewire but you pushing more power threw that tiny factory wire. It might just be me but i would get some better wire to get the full potential out of the money you have invested in your cars stereo.
