I know the v6 isn't the same, my I4 is under the ex manifold. It plugged into the oil seperator then held by rubber hose, then metal tubing. The hose was so old that it wouldn't pull back from the valve. I had to painstakingly cut it off and put a new one on. Well it didn't help that the metal tubing wouldn't budge either
