i have a sony receiver, dont know the specs but the model # is STR-DE835... if I only had a subwoofer for the friggin thing. Well, after I complete my car project and finish the computer thing, i might work on this home theater setup. not important at the time :-p

I don't spend enough time in my car to justify a huge system, but home audio is a different story Originally I thought a subwoofer would be necessary from the start, but that would have costed more money than I had left over after buying my speakers and reciever. I recomend picking out a good set of front speakers then save up cash until you can get a nice sub because the sub will make or break your system. For the most part, a decent sub is going to run you atleast $350 (or a lot more depending on what you want). This is why I picked out a pair of main speakers that have a frequency range down to 37Hz (3dB point).
