I replaced the gasket myself with a little guidance from the shop manual. The gasket I bought from a local Ford dealer is actually a large, pre-formed O-ring which fits in a groove in the valve cover. It was pretty straightforward, no real surprises. Just tighten the bolts down gradually from center to outside in what is referred to as "standard sequence" so that nothing warps and you get a good fit. I paid $23.04 US (including 5% sales tax) for the gasket. I also used the opportunity to give the outside of the valve cover a good cleaning while it was off the engine.
I'll try sending you a PM with a picture.
