I wanted to know how difficult it would be to put an SVT engine in an ealier model contour. I have a 1995 contour LX and the engine is blown. I have done a lot to the car and love it. I wanted to put a more powerful engine in the car, would the SVT engine be compatable or does anybody know of a good engine that would?

Skip the SVT and go for a 3 liter! If you have the time, patience, money, tools, knowledge, and CEG.

What they say. The 2.5L SVT runs $5k approx (say a new replacement was needed), and the 3.0 $1.2 (both in stock trim, full price new) Ths SHO Shop sells the 3.0 in a "plug-n-play format IIRC, and is the way I would go if Ford didn't warantee my 2.5L engines.

The 3.0 has more potential and parts are available at a reasonable cost (Ford has always swapped out my 2.5L, NEVER any parts.)

Happy engine sounds are one of the things I live for!
