ok, this is'nt on a contour but at least I own a contour! I've been having a loss of power and have done numerous things to try to fix such as an all new ignition system. Anyway, I just checked the coolant and IT LOOKS LIKE DIAHREA! I know it has oil in it but the oil has no coolant in it at least that I can tell. There is also no white smoke in the exhaust. So my question is... can the head gasket be blown, leaking oil into the coolant and making a loss of power, but not be leaking coolant into the oil or combustion chamber? it still runs but I don't want to make it worse. I've ordered a new head gasket set and I've been meaning to replace the valve stem seals anyway. But I'm worried that it could actually be a cracked head or something. any help would great I really appreciate it!!!!

but if you have a automatic trans and the radiator has i internal trans fluid cooler, transmision oil can get in the coolant and coolant can get in the trans if this is the problem dont drive the car till you get a new radiator and have your trany flushed and filter replaced

Will the tsanny fluid have coolant in it if thats the case? and will this cause the truck to run bad?

This exact thing just happened to me last week. Oil in radiator from the transmission cooling system that runs into the radiator. I however did not get any coolant into my transmission. I had to replace the radiator and have the cooling system flushed out. I had a tranny shop change what oil was left in the tranny. They said there was no coolant there. John
