So remove the return hose that is at the Bottom of reservoir and attach a hose to collect the spent fluid and poor in new to replenish and keep the reservoir full? I do this till it flows clean. How many quarts does it take to clean out the old?

By removing the bottom hose, the one that comes from the pump, does this cause the reservoir to leak out. Not sure how it circulates? Maybe the top(smaller) hose is the return?
