You Get a "Cooling-Off " Period

If the sale was made at your home, or at a place other than the seller's regular place of business, you can cancel the contract within three days. This must be WRITTEN in the contract. If it isn't written in the contract, the three-day period doesn't start until you are given a notice in writing.

The contract must have a form you can use to cancel the contract. If you want to cancel the contract, return the form to the seller. The seller must give back your money or any trade-in. Sellers must pick up the goods within 20 days of the day they get your form. If they don't, they lose their right to the goods.

What was proven by those 16 posts?
