Hey All,

Like I said in a previous post - I just installed a Rockford Fosgate 8340. But the radio puts out too much bass for my stock speakers.

Looking for a good replacement speaker or component set. And also amps to push it. Without breaking the bank, but something that will last.

Maybe by Rockford keep everything the same?

Any Ideas much appreciated!

I have the Infinity Kappas and I regret buying 4 of them.

Only 2 of them would do the work for me. They rule.

I have the USX 4065 pumping 65W RMS and I feel like the speakers have much more to go. Incredible.

How about some CDT-61a Component Speakers driven by a US Acoustics USX-4085 with the amp's rear channels bridged to a Blueprint BPD-1202 Subwoofer (build your own box). Be sure to grab a KnuKonceptz 4ch 4ga Amplifier Wiring Kit.

Components - $150
Amp - $175
Subwoofer - $97
Amp wiring kit - $36
Box building supplies - around $30

Total w/o shipping = $488

FWIW, RF hasn't made stuff with a good performance/$ ratio since back in the day. Also, you'd be better off disconnecting your rear speakers after installing a system like the one I described.

P.S. I still don't think your factory amp is properly bypassed. The symptoms you're describing are exactly what happens when running speaker outputs from an aftermarket HU into the factory amp. I'd suggest finding a new 'stereo guy'.

I thought I replied to this, but oh well here goes.

Not sure if amp is properly bypassed but followed wires from HU all the way to the amp plug for the speakers and they match.

Also, factory amp could be pulled out and will be pulled out soon enough.

Already have subs just need good interior speakers and amp to push them.

What about RF fanactic Qs from way back don't know if they still make them, but I remember them being one of the best.

Have you tried another head unit? Maybe there something wrong with the one you have, in this day and age of the "Customer is the final (and only) quality control inspector"....

Was it a used head unit? Maybe it's the culprit.

RF still makes Fanatic Q's. I have no idea if they're the same as years back, but the CDT's I linked to (the off-color ones for $150) are commonly thought as the best value currently out there in a [pre-built] component system.

A US Acoustics USX-2100 from www.thezeb.com for $100 would be a great amp to push the CDT's.

HU was supposed to be brand new. Everything was packaged like it was still new, also. I asked the seller 2 days ago if it was in fact new, and he replied that it was brand new he found it in a back corner of his warehouse.

I wanted to find a post to ask this question in, instead of making a new thread and annoying everyone. Can anyone tell me the negatives of this amp, a profile california 75watts RMS x4 thats only $89 on eBay? The Fosgate 60wattsrms x 4 is around 200-300, so why is the profile so much cheaper? anyone have better suggestions for a quality 4 channel amp under $150 shipped? thanks

Also read more about USAcoustics USX line.

I have the 4065 and it pumps 65W to each channel.

I think the 4085 delivers 85W per channel.
