Thanks for the input. I am looking to get good quality sound, not compete. Right now I am looking at car alarms before I start upgrading my stereo anymore, and this one is awesome...

N-VJ - looking at the amp specs it gives the wattage @ 14.4 volts, isn't my battery running 12v???

If you don't wanna follow the link, at least check out the keychain remote. I love electronic toyz..

The alternator puts out ~14.4V when running.

You'll tend to see higher end companies rate their amps in the 12V range. They will generally produce significantly more power at 14.4V.

Companies that rely more on marketing like max power, etc... will tend to rate their amps at 14.4V.

This is why a 200x2 amp from PPI, MTX, etc... will cost significantly more than that 200x2 Jensen, Boss, etc... amp.

That site says the specs are rated at 12.9 volts, so maybe sounddomain is wrong. I've read on other forums that US Acoustics rates their products at around 12 volts, but I can't verify this myself.

I've had a few USAcoustics amps. They're rated at 12.9V.

You mean some companies publish fase claims! wink

And yet thousands will still go out and buy that Pyramid amplifier that is 400x4 with a 60 amp fuse and a compact 10" long......or it is 20" long with a 10" long pcb inside.....LOL
