i got a 96 Cont. V-6 engine, automatic, loaded.. about one year ago the wiring for the a/c high cut off valve was coming of and by the two wires loosing the insulation they shorted out and the high pressure in the a/c unit did not cut off like it was suppose to.. the pressure got so high that it blew the charge out of the high side service valve... i bought two cans of R-134 and a new service valve for about $20 at the ford dealership...and recharged the a/c and it lasted for now about one year.. the wiring that had the insulation missing.. i went to Ace Hardware store and bought a can of Liquid Tape.. small can of rubber based stuff that you brush on and it insulates... i would really think twice before i take the car to the dealership... they, the shops dont make much off of this 12 hour recall warranty??? and they only get paid for 4 hrs.. think about it and figure out what else they gonna mess up when changing all the wires.. i just hope mine last and if not i have about 3/4 of a can of liquid tape left(only cost about $3.00 a can).....
