What do you use to crimp 4-gauge ring terminals?
Is there a special crimping tool or will a pair of vise-grips do the job?

I'm sure there are crimpers available for 4-ga., but vice grips have always worked fine for me.

I'll try that (I need to make a 4-gauge alternator output cable for my Mustang..I'm upgrading the alternator in it).
I assume vice-grips provide decent results (as in, the crimp is good and tight)?

i used vice grips too, just make sure to keep clamping then down tighter and tighter, once isn't good enough.

When you go to 0ga. I'd take it to an auto electric shop and have them swage on your terminals, it's cheap insurance against failure.

The reason there's so much ignorance is that those who have it are so eager to share it.

Plyers, hammer, run over it.
Just make the wire stay in tightly.

i used a vice, but mine kept slipping off, so i used a hammer and a nail set to push the flanges down
