Yeah, I'll admit I'm very bitter. My parents bought an Apple IIGS for Christmas back in 1989. At the time, it was the one of the most advanced personal computers out there, and was the best Apple had to offer. They claimed it would be their flagship product for years to come, which was one of the reasons we went with Apple. Then, four months later, they announced they were discontinuing the IIGS along with all software production. We bought a $3000 paperweight and couldn't return it. That's when I realized that the PC architecture was more open and not restricted by one single company. I haven't looked back since. I can build a comparable computer for half the price (hell, my Archos 20GB cost me $270 when the 20GB iPod cost over $500), so what does Apple offer that I can't get from a PC?

EDIT: I will concede that I'm rooting for Apple with the whole iTunes thing. If my mp3 player could play AAC files I'd be all over that.
