I don't replace mine either; they are rechargeable. Unlike Apple, Archos had the forsight to use a standard battery size (AA) for their players. Much like other decisions Apple has made, they sometimes only seem to want to screw over their most loyal customers (I used to be one). That, and the ridiculous prices they charge for their products has kept me on the "non-buying" side of the Apple fence for over 13 years.
