from what i've read...XM is already available and is about $10/month..they use 2 satellites. some Pioneer head units are XM satellite ready so you get the Digital sound and don't have to use a FM converter.

Sirius will be ready for the beginning of next year and its going to run 12-13/month but they use 3 satellites. some Kennwood head units are coming Sirius satellite ready

I'm definately going to look into getting it cause the radio stations here in Pittsburgh suck...but only if i get a new head unit that is satellite ready, cause if you use an FM converter its defeating the purpose.
...and I'm going to wait until Sirius starts broadcasting, so i can get some opinions to compare the two, to see which one i want to subscribe to


crutchfield has CD head units that are satellite ready ranging from $200-$1000..plus you got to pay about $75 -$100 for the antenna.
