"2) I had the heat blasting the whole time with nothing but cold air coming out.
3) After deciding my enginee was too hot and pulling over there was a "build up" of pressure in the collant resevior(sp?) Some coolant was coming out of the top black hose, maybe even the bottom one too I didn;t really notices and the coolant lvl was much higher then it is when the car is off anf the level is at right about max.
All this leads me towards the tstat."
This is a waterpump concern. As someone tried to explain, but I think kinda got confused, If your water pump is working and your T-stat is stuck closed, you will STILL have hot air coming out of you defrost because the water pump is still circulating the water through your heater core. The car would overheat because the T-stat being closed will not allow the water to circulate through your engine. If the water pump is not working you will not have HOT air coming out of your defrost because it is not being circulated through your heater core or the engine for that matter. When replacing your $60 waterpump it is also a good idea to replace your $10 T-stat just for good measure.
