How good of a friend is he is the important question. A real good friend would offer to get it fixed (mine would anyways). Though if he's a good friend with little money, then maybe settle on a percentage of what it would actually cost to get fixed. Depending on how small it is, it could cost just $100-$200 to get fixed.
