As some of you may know I sold my car before thanksgiving. I ordered a truck from the local dodge dealer and it came in yesterday. I love it.

2004 Dodge Dakota Sport Club Cab 4x4
4.7L V8
5 spd manual
3.92 gears
limited slip differential
tow package
skid plates

Its actually pretty fun to drive. I need to get an exhaust for it to let that V8 sound like it should I'll post pics soon.

The mod bug has bitten.

Congrats on the truck, sad to see the tour go. Sounds like your enjoying the truck though.

Congrats, I love dodges trucks.

Got to love end of year sales incentives We just got a dodge with 3500 off - no "fun to drive" factor in the grand caravan but it's still a pretty decent package (SXT) for what it is, and the 3.8L spanks the crappy 2.0 SOHC Neon Sedan the wife was driving for the last 6 years.

Very nice! How hard was it to find the V8 with the manual, and how does it drive? Car & Driver complained that it was impossible to shift smoothly, just wondering if that's your experience so far...

Congrats om the truck Simon, I'm sure its nice Are you planning on getting some more performance out of it? The reason I ask is because I know first hand the Mopar perf computer really works, well it does on the 5.3L 318 anyways. The first time I ever went down the dragstrip I drove my ex-boss' 93'Dakota. It had the 318 Magnum(220-230 hp), ATX and 3.55 open differential, also a single Flowmaster muffler. My first pass netted a 16.0 @85 mph, so we then installed the Mopar perf computer and I then ran a 15.7 @88 mph, .3/3 mph improvement for $200.00 and less then 5 minutes of install time, not bad IMO. Also I'm sure the computer is calibrated to work even better when you have other mods done, like open element intake and a "real" exhaust system Looking forward to those pics Simon!
