Whats wrong with the z24?? I can show you some z24's runnin mid 14's... those 3.1 could be some old push rod tech engines, but if done right, they can eat up some 2.5's and 3L's on here, I'm currently dropping a 3400 SFI Mated to a 5 speed in my cavalier, wanna challenge?
go to www.v6z24.com look me up. I'll be gladly to take any 3L N/a Duratec around my area when my 3400 swap is complete
infact heres a nice video of a cavy z24 second generation, with a built up 3.1 (3100 SFI heads, intake, exhaust) running high 14's
1993 Cavalier 3.1 Hybrid. (3400 heads)

No, seriously. It was a fun little car.
Here, found a pic of it:
She ran a 16.8@80.xx with 132k, and it was completely beat to [censored] before I got it. The guy I bought it from had a brake line blow, and instead of fixing it, he disconnected the line and plugged it at the MC . He also replaced the front rotors, only the pads were worn down TO THE STEEL plate that the material is attached to.

Werd. I plan to pick up a Gen 1 Z24 some day in the not to distant future and shoe-horning a 3800 SC in there . I would be more than happy to take on any 3L Contour in a beast like that

My first was a 1987 Acura Integra RS, in blue. Got it used, and I just happened to find a service manual on top of the spare tire, so I had a lot of fun fiddling with some of the car's bits. It was a sturdy little thing; hit a deer, put 'er in a couple of ditches, jumped a little bridge, and the only time I needed pro bodywork was when the [censored] across the street took off my rear bumper with a from-the-side hit in a parking lot.

Looks like a few of us had first gen Integras before our Contours. It's kinda interesting in an odd sort of way. I kinda miss my old Integra at times, but then I think about how I used to whack myself in the head on the roof everytime I went to go in or out. Though, it's amusing to see the community that even the 1st gen integra has now. www.g1teg.org . - Ian in Tampa 99 SE Sport T-Red MTX 61k

Started out driving a 1990 Mercury Topaz, lasted a year and the motor mounts were broken, traded for a 1996 moonlight blue mystique, which 4 years after puchasing the flex plate in the tranny warped, traded my baby for a 1998 Mystique which was a pile poo(stayed in the family less then a year), drove it for 6 months, gave it to my parents, and they bought an 1995 escort for the trade off. well thats were I am now that escort.
Next car will be one of these 3, 1998+ contour svt, 99+ cougar or a 98+ Infiniti G20t.

this one right here. i knew nothing about cars, and after a little searching (and thankfully NOT getting a saturn station wagon or a purple "maroon" dodge minivan) my dad was set on getting a contour. after that first drive, i knew why
when i go to college (at least for freshman year) its going to go to my brother...ill tell him to come on the forums, and hopefully he wont crash it
if he ends up keeping it, im going to try and get a CSVT for sophomore year
