True, but the steeda in the group buy comes with everything that you need. No fabbing needed. We do that for you. Plus it is alot cheaper. Only draw back ithat it won't hapen until January. Me and Ray are still working out a few samll details. We will have the knobs in this group buy also.
don't mean to cause a problem but it will go right in if you take the centering spring out. I left it in and it shifts fine, just need to notch the shift tower so the centering spring can move, since it is raised because of the raiser plate
also the B&M is alot shorter then the Steeda, so for me knowing that it is a true short shifter and that the overall height is not a huge difference then stock I am really happy with the Steeda, it shifts really fast

BTW- Two days after posting this, I was OWN3D by my B+M. The linkage nipple snapped off clean and I was not confused as to what happened. I pulled up the boot and fingered the linkage into 3rd gear and limped home. Too ironic! I have since welded the bajeebers out of the fitting, so it won't be an issue anymore... Just thought I'd share some humor.

cough cough cut your stock one down and you will have a b&m lol and it cost you all of 20 bucks for a new shifter knob!!!!! b&m dose not lengthen their shifter below the pivot point so you accomplish the same thing by cutting the stock one down. plus you can cut it to the length of your choice. mine is real low it is so short i can shift with just a throw of my finger.

BZZZZT! Wrong answer! First of all there is no way to retain the Reverse L/O option on a ghetto.. I mean cut shifter. Second, the B+M is a straight shifter not a bent shifter. It is not as comfortable when cut, IMO. Third point, the pivot is plastic on the stockie and really sucks in comparison to the B+M. Sorry, but I don't like the cut shifter... Cheap or no.
(My response is all in fun, BTW, as I have had this debate with many "frugal" people in the past)

Yeah, with the centering spring out, the Steeda shifts so smoothly into any gear. There is no need for the spring.
