Are you using the 3L throttle body? It has a SVT style TPS on it. If mix that one up with the stock TB or if you used your stock TB TPS with the 3L then you could have broke the TPS as they both turn opposite directions.

I'm not following I guess. You have no choice other than to use the 3L TB. The TPS's on both TB's have the same part number. After seeing the code I swaped the old TPS over for sh!ts and giggles. Same outcome. Not understanding broken Tom.

You know the breather for the PCV might explain the high idle. I know that when I cleaned my UIM and I forgot to put the hose connecting the UIM to the PCV I was greeted with a high initial idle up to about 3 or 4 thousand, but I can't remember if it feel back down to a more reasonable level or not. Now that I think about it, it never did fall back down. That small vacuum leak caused the engine to bounce off the rev limiter in neutral(ATX), which is about 4 thousand. So you might want to check that out and see if that solves it or not.

But wouldn't you have an air leak coming out of your intake tube? I have mine plugged.

For debug only:

try plugging off the brass PCV intake tube that comes out under the base of the TB (not sure what it looks like on a 3.0 upper). You won't suck in any PCV at all and since you have breathers on the valve covers expanding gasses will just vent to atmosphere.

Or to check the TPS - doesn't the car run almost normally at idle in limp mode with it unplugged? If it's just the TPS saying like 40% when it's really closed unplugging it should fix that.

Totally different animal. No tubes to IAC even off the intake tube. PCV is inline now and isn't a servicable item. Goes to underside of the UIM. Then 3 ports are left for brake booster, purge and vacuum.

So the PCV still goes to the underside of the UIM? That tube on the underside of the UIM is what I forgot to hook up and it let in the unmetered air. Try what scott said to see if that is the problem.

Todd, when you relocated the IAC to the rear of the intake, how did you connect it to the original manifold IAC ports to get air from in front of the TB to behind it??? I'm a little confused after looking at your pics again...

Ok see the P&V forum. It was the breather filter. Props to you guys! I had no idea it would cause the car to idle like that. Runs tip top now!

I don't know which TPS you had, but the stock duratec TPS is different from the SVT and 3L TPS. They turn opposite ways. I found out when I went to replace mine one time.

It isn't really relevant anymore though since you fixed it.
