I am about to install a new set of speakers in the tour and the last time I did this the speakers did not fit against the door very tight! Is there something I can put on the outside edge of the speaker to make it fit nice and tight? Metal on metal can not be good for sound quality either. I was thinking about dynamat or something to that effect but I dont want to do the entire door and make this into a huge project. Plus cost is an issue too! I would prefer something that I could just line the edge of the speaker with and make a nice seal to the door! Any ideas?

How about some 3M 2 sided tape from K-Mart or Walmarts auto section. The kind most of us used on the sidemarkers.

just go to any hardware store and get some foam tape. it comes in all different thicknesses and widths. Plus you can use the rest to stop all the rattles in your car

I just replaced all 4 in my '00 CSVT. Experienced the same problem. To resolve, I bought foam (6mm thick) and cut out a "gasket" for the speaker to mount into. It was fast, cheap, and worked well. I got the foam at a craft store. I think you can get soemthing like it at Wal-Mart... maybe?? It's the size of paper, but thicker of course. G/L

How's this, it comes in 8.5x11 inch sheets, at 4, 6, or 8mm thick.
