Remember to check the circular mesh at the bottom of the housing. I had the same problem and it was the circular mesh clogged.
If the car runs alright with a full tank, the pump is likely to be o.k.
Clean the suction mesh on the pump and toss the circular one on the bottom and I bet you will be o.k.
