It only needs 2 cubic feet of air space, so it really isn't too bad. But, for all out SPL system, it would really like to have 6 to 7 cubic feet. At it's price, there is not a single speaker than can come close to displacing the same amount of air.

yeah, 15" Strokers need a 3.5 cubic foot ported box per sub for best performance.

thats what I thought. back around '99, one of the owners of a local shop had an SVT with 2 15" strokers and the box ate up the entire trunk.

i think I might have to punk out and get the 15's. 60lbs a sub not to mention the right box is a little too extreme for me. I am sold on the blueprints however.

Hey dnewma04 what is better for bass drivers magnet weight or magnet motor strength determined by the rare earth minerals the magnet is composed of you know strontium versus neodymium versus iron ferrite core.

Some DEI drivers use neodymium in the bass drivers motor system.

Motor strength is definitly more important than weight. Sometimes when using very small magnets, it is difficult to get uniform motor strenth thoughout the gap though. Check out the Seismic 8196 to see one of the most advanced motors on the market.
