Cool, I wish there were some events around here,,, though I seriously wouldn't feel comfortable on these tires. They're great every day tires (contiextremes) but they don't hold a stick to performance tires and they loose their grip with far less notice than performance tires.

I did a couple of events on all season radials when I first started. Lots of sliding around, and those small tread blocks really chunk up. Your Contis might do a little better, but still a good idea to put a more aggressive tire on.

I sorta wish I would have got a different tire, but these were affordable and good for the driving I'll be doing soon (going between college and home 3 and 1/2 hour drive every couple months). Though I was having a little fun one night and lost it going bout 70 on a real tight curve. The tires weren't squealing at all before it happened, so I didn't truly know I was at their limit (sorta could feel it, but my car never feels completely right), luckily I kept it from hitting the curbs, but it was a little scary. I'd imagine there is some auto-xing up in atlanta, maybe when I go there in about 2 years for college I can get into it.

There's 3 regional clubs in GA, but I'm not sure where Albany is. Check out autocross.com for a listing.

Just some nostalgia here... My dad's the reason i got into autocrossing...

He used to run a 70's model Ford Fiesta in GS. He said he could post better times than some of the guys in V-8 mustangs and camaros. Fun times. I've gotten a few better times than some F-bodies, but a buddy of mine in an '02 SVT cobra rules FS.

Oh well.

Peace

Jed

I was in STS with a Open element Filter and that was about the only mod i had. Finished 5th out of 13. Alot of other mod'd SVT's where there. Demon finished in front of me 2nd iirc. its more the driver than anyting. Ya the car has a part but if you can carry more speed in becuase you know where and how to turn and exit a corner your pretty much set. Its a blast i can't wait to get the Mod'd SHO out there. I haven't even thought of a class that i would be in. Probably SM thats what im thinking

I plan to run G stock next season.

I'm sure I will have no problems with tech either...

Actually I've been thinking about running ESP since I'll probably be "out" of the STX rules.
