What would happen if a CSVT raced: Focus SVT, Honda Civic Si or Ex with vtec(say it had intake, and exhaust), Older and newer mustang GT and the Acura CL. Dont laugh just wondering what other people think. BTW, say the CSVT had Bassani Exhaust, and intake?

I second that, except for one thing: the CL, if it was a Type-S, could beat the Tour.

What about an Audi A4 or a BMW Z3, or 300 series, or new or old SHO?

DEMON!!!

Indulge the man!

hehe,

csvts are a driver's car, if you can drive it right, you can eat all of those for lunch, as I recently mentioned in a quickly locked thread (I accidentally mentioned I was playing with a Z4, should've kept it hypothetical), bmw's can be had, the cam profile on our cars leaves a fat torque curve that makes it possible. . .

but enough of the rubbish, and back to your regularly scheduled 3L vs. SRT4 thread

It's possible to beat older stang GTs. I've done it on several occasions with different year stangs. I know there will be ppl here that say it shouldnt happen and they are right. But you CAN do it. It all depends on the car, conditions, and drivers of course. It's closer than some would have you believe. And of course I'm saying NO mods on the stangs.

And I have owned 2 fox body 5.0 stangs, I'm well aware of what they can and cant do.

Werent the 94-95 GT's extremly slow for a mustang!!! Old engine with the added weight of the new body style, I think they were low 15's stock. The 96-98's were not necesarily out of the csvts range either!!!

As long as were on the topic of random cars, i was wondering if my 99 SVT Contour with small mods such as exhaust, wires, and intake would beat a 95 GLX VR6 Jetta? Im pretty sure I could, but i just would like some inputs from other people so i dont go boasting around and then lose a race to this jetta at the tracks. Oh the jetta just has an exhaust. This weekend we are going up to woodburn to see what happens.

The '95 GLX is a fast car, should be a close race assuming it is a 5-speed. Off the line he might take ya, they have 172 hp and about 178 tq at fairly low rpms, and weigh in at about 2900 pounds. Also depends on how good a driver he is. You can probably take him, but I think it'll be real close. Good luck.
