Hey all, All I want to know is: WILL THE FOCUS ZETEC PARTS WORK ON MY 96 CONTOUR ZETEC? Please leave your vote so I know if I should start buying and installing...

What parts? Some parts will fit WITH mofification, especially with aftermarket parts. I have an intake for a focus zetec on my mystique but i had to modify it a little.

I had a '98 Contour with a zetec and a 2000 Focus with the zetec. The engines are basically the same.

ummmm NO.... for one a 98 Zetec in a contour has VCT and the focus doesn't well OK the SVT focus does but it's still NOT the same VCT 98+ contour Zetec VCT is on the Exaust cam SVT focus VCT is on the Intake cam. any year contour to any year focus the oil pan is differnt shape making header fitment harder, throttle body on the 98+ contour is slightly differnt than a pre 98 contour, and on the focus the ATX and MTX get differnt throttle bodies which are both differnt than the contours. intake manifolds are also differnt from the contour to the focus.... shall I pop the valve cover off and continue????? lifter.... YEP differnt making it limited as to the selection of how wild you can go with cams on the contour... I could go on but I'm too lazy...brows around this section and in the archives and you can see they are not so similar.... and yes I would say search but I know lance had to turn it off cause of the servers motherboard issues.

As far as the cam thing goes switching to a Focus cam is as simple as putting out the cash for 16 focus lifters...its what I did. The bottom end is absolutely the same. You can bolt up a focus oil pan on a contour Zetec, and The focus TB's and intake manifold will work too, you just have to buy the Focus linkage and do a little plumbing work..nothing a weekend, a case of the good stuff, and a mechanically inclined buddy can't handle. Basically if it's for a focus it can pretty easily be made to fit on a contour. The only things that might be really difficult is the messing with a contour valvetrain that has VCT, and trying to mod a full length focus header, neither venture is worth it in my opinion.
