The XDP-210EQ is the model I had in my car. I liked it pretty well as it had crossover controls, 19 band EQ, IIRC, and some digital time alignment controls, although they were a little weak.
With a digital EQ, you tend to be able to get much higher crossover slopes then you can with an active analog EQ (expense is the reason you don't see them) or crossover.
You can't possibly go wrong with an AudioControl for any piece of signal processing. They are arguably the best and have a long history of success in Home, Pro, and Car Audio. The only reason I mentioned the PPI EQs, is that they are also very good, and would match Tim's amp if the brand thing was important to him.
I prefer multiband parametric EQs over 1/3 octave EQs but they can be a little trickier to tune correctly. If you have an RTA, and a 5 or 6 band parametric EQ, you get an amazing amount of options to get the sound you want.
