I had no idea. It's available for ZX2, Cougar, Focus with Ztec. What is so different about a Contour Ztec engine that it would require so much modding?

From what I hear, the cougar and contour may have the same setup (after all both are built on the same platforms), but if it's made like other headers, it's not going to bolt up to a zx2, focus, AND cougar without modification as each car varies slightly in positioning of various things,, a/c compressor (who needs that though), oil pan, cooling fans, sub frame, etc. MAYBE it would work, but I doubt it,,, basically a new downpipe has to be made. For pre98 contours a EGR hole would be needed if it doesn't have it. And if you keep a/c possibly placing o2 sensor hole in different spot (I didn't look to see where that one was, but hector had to do this, cuz he likes air conditioning).

If the Cougar setup is quite similar to the Contour, this might work. There are three different setups available if you take a close look at the site. The Cougar headers are priced at $355 US. Not bad at all, but it is an ADVANCE ORDER, so delivery dates might be an issue. They may be doin' a group buy of their own as a modification of the ZX2 headers.
Perhaps a call to ZXtuner is in order if somebody wants headers. Ask them to confirm whether the Cougar headers will fit in a Contique without mods or perhaps they'll mod some for you if you get a group buy going. Seems to me they might go for it, then you'd be some badass Ztecs!! I drive a V-6, but I'd buy a header for my daughters ZX2 if it would count toward a group buy.
Somebody call & let us know what comes of it.

Rob has been working on these 4-2-1 headers for the cougar for a while,, so I'm not sure when they're planned to actually be for sell. Supposedly they should fit a contour but no one has checked. Somebody would have to get a contour out to Rob to be checked... maybe 1sweetride could do this....

I have already tken my car to Rob. It's not that we are waiting for a Contour it's that we are waiting for a Cougar. I am always down for turning my car in for new mods.
