Well, you didn't do your homework on this one.

Ford did not have an option for the SVT engine on a non SVT Contour.

The Ford shop manual provides the information that you should have researched. The SVT engine has a different VIN code.

The SVT engine has a different intake manifold, a different throttle body, and most noticable in your photo of the engine, a different air intake with a round Mustang style air filter.

I suggest you fix your mistake. I noticed that you did not give me your community or state so that I can notify your DMV and district attorney. If you are correct, you have nothing to worry about. Since you don't want to face those authorities I can easily assume that you know you are wrong.

By the way, I'm a Ford Service Manager as well as a Contour SVT owner. Just fix it and grow up.

you have got to be kidding me, you are a 24 k [censored], i never said it was an svt. it is a contour se with the 200 hp engine it does not have the badge on the engine , i dont need to talk to you or any other [censored] about your foolish thoughts. #1 the high bidder is buying the car for his kid for college #2 he paid less then wholesale for the car if it were the regular contour with hub caps. #3 he has no care or concern about a svt or an se it means nothing to alot of people but if someone were to want for sure to make sure that the engine is as i say it is i would have no trouble letting them bring it to the local ford dealership. you guys actualy have a club for a hopped up escort. wow you guys are a laughing stock, starting a club for a semi quick 4dr grocery getter, i mean come on if you guys want a real sports car buy a corvette camaro transam or any of the 1000k plus$$ club foreign cars. sorry to burst your bubble not everyone buying a car is buying it for the speed, or the engine all they care about is good condition reliability mileage and good price, certainly if someone wanted a fast 4dr car i wouldnt think any smart people would think of buying a contour for that purpose. come on fellow or you might be a lady because a 4dr club, i will be sure to post your pathetic email to all the sports car clubs and you and the "svt club" will be the laughing stock! get a life. i would not and do not fraudulantly give out false info, and in the case i ever was wrong about something i would fix it not that its any of your damn buisness to email me in the fashion you did, i have owned a car dealership for yrs 15+ and i know what i am saying 99.9 % of the time, certainly i did my homework on this car because it is a rarity . the dyno machine does not lie either, as my dealership has performed that test to accompany the paperwork on the car including the original build sheet, with the optional svt enginge installed without badges!. nice try again when you get a real car and club drop me a line.
