I agree with what you have said. Although, aside from the subura thing, it doesn't appear that Clarion has influenced their business practices. I couldn't find any mention of Clarion on their site.

Just an interesting tidbit of info that makes me glad I bought the McIntosh amp. When I was in my car accident, I was unsure if the amp was damaged. I called the parts and service manager and he told me where to bring it to test. If there is any damage, they will send me an RMA and have it picked up at their expense, repaired and returned. I asked how much it would cost, and he said nothing. laugh I told him that I had been making some adjustments on the amp before the accident and lost some screws that hold a glass panel down, so he sent me the replacements, no questions asked. Needless to say, I was delirious with the customer service provided.
