It certainly appears as if all the specialty independent manufacturers are being gobbled up by the large, mainstream manufacturers.

As a conservative capitalist, I must admit to some sense of this being a potential double-edge sword.

On the one hand, it means the specialty companies can potentially receive more funding for development of their products as well as being able to better market them.

On the other hand, this also means there is the potential for the specialty products to become diluted by corporate meddling, not to mention possible over-saturation of the market & the subsequent diminution of its reputation amongst loyal customers.
