sounds like ur battery just needs more juice. If you had the battery disconnected while you were working on it (which you should have for obvious safety reasons) the car will start up w/out the exhaust/o2 sensors connected. the car will run in closed loop untill u take the thing out and drive it around. it just won't run or idle right w/out the sensor giving a reading and it will throw a check engine light.
