2 thoughts on C4's:

Last fall, I sold a '93 coupe/auto with 29,350 miles for a good friend of mine. He was the original owner. Always garaged, probably saw rain twice, blue tinted roof panel 3" cracked, ran good, a few paint chips, excellent beige leather interior with both power seats, Bose CD, tires original...maybe 5000 left. Oh yeah, color was white. Sold for $17,500. Point being a price comparo with your potential '92.

1992 was the first year for the LT1.. I think that was port fuel injection rather than sequential fuel injection. Check this as sequential is the way to go. Maybe the guru's here can help, I may be confused with '92/'93 Z28's.

Regardless, parts are EXPENSIVE for corvettes as you are noticing. Bear it in mind as the insurance may be cheap/reasonable but that's only part of the story. ZZZ.

LS1 Camaro/Firbird. Much more potentail, newer for cheaper and a little more practical. Like I said in your other post. I would take a LS1 Camaro/Firbird over an LT1 vette anyday.

sweetVT said it, it's impractical. It does look sweet, but I would hold out another year or two and get more use and value out of mean green. Then look into a getting another car.

I'm 26 just before I bought my SVT I almost bought a 1998 vette convertable C4 style I believe, when I was 24. Financially it would have been a mistake, and yes the speed and performance would have been a plus but now I'm very happy I didn't because of the expense and really it being an impractical choice. Now expenses are not really an issue and the car is practically paid for. Now I'm thinking what's next, but unfortunately have grown attached to my SVT, so I'll wait another year at least. Don't make a mistake financially is the point I really want to make.

Good Luck.

Being a HUGE Vette fan I say go for it, especially if you don't need a 4 door car laugh Thats the 1st year for the new LT-1 and has 300 hp, as you probably already know and with it having a 6spd I'd say it has a 3.23/3.42 gear. It look well maintained and does it have documentation to go along with it confused Good luck with whatever you do wink

I've never like the Corvette until the C5. Too many problems, not enough performance.

Go for it dude, looks nice, sounds nice....big aftermarket for the LT1 - you're never gonna get an ls1 for the money you can afford....but HP is just as easy to get, I've seen a blown impala SS with 420hp at the wheels, and that's an Automatic!

They'll probably want some crazy 15% interest rate or something.
any chance your parents would be willing to help out? they could take out a home equity loan at a reasonable 8% or so and give you the cash to pay for the car. then they can use the loan as a write off at tax time each year. they'd make out like a bandit with that, and you'd get a good interest rate.

I'll assume that you've also run your post through various corvette forums?

I love my Contour to death, but my 'vette is still my #1 baby.
There's money to be made in racing. I should know. I put a lot of it there.

I use to sell use cars, vettes among the many. I don;t like them one bit..cept for the 97 and up. They are no where near as fast as I thought, never liked the look and getting in and out of that car is eek just like someone said earlier..very impractical. Hope you don;t have a girlfriend or many friends becuase they will get tired of getting in and out quick. Oh yea..I know I'll probably hear it but I think the SVT looks much better overall as far as appearances go...just my opinion.
