Those that have been banned that I'm aware of were either total assclowns that just couldn't take a hint or folks that became verbally abusive in such a manner that it constituted as a threat to certain individuals.
All in all, I think things have been rather judicious here in the way moderator "muscle" has been flexed in the past.
