Hello,

I'm trying to figure out what type of bulb the trunk light of my Mystique takes. I'm wanting to guess it's a DE3175, but the Chilton manual says to check with the Ford dealership for replacement (that's never fun) and Sylvania's site is referring to it as a 6411 (I know some bulbs have multiple numbers). I would like to order a different color anyways, so if anyone could confirm the number of this light, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Ditch the bulb and go with a neon.

sounds like a great idea, but i'm looking for a quick and easy mod here.

heh, earlier tonight when i was examining the bulb in the trunk, my screwdriver slipped and hit a hot wire. i'm now in desperate need of a 7.5 amp ATO fuse.

i'm wanting to go ahead and order some bulbs online, but i want confirmation on the bulb type before i blow a few bucks.

I did that same thing. It was actually easy to put a neon in there I took a female cig. lighter plug, spiced it to the wiring. and I was ready for neons. Took not even 5 mins.

I agree with everyone else 100%. I put a neon in my trunk and that was the first "electrical" mod I ever did and took me no more than 10 minuets.

The results are well worth the 10 min.

How about an LED bulb?

Also, I had a 20" blacklight neon in the trunk of the Contour. I hate to cut wires if I don't have to, so I unplugged the plastic housing with the bulb, cut the cigarette lighter adapter off of the neon, and crimped a pair of spade connectors on the end of the wires and plugged it in like stock.
