It has been said many times, if it is verified that your heart is no longer into a car you should not bother modding it further to try to 'keep the vigor'. It happened several times in NE-CEG among other local groups and is unfortunate, as they ended up selling the vehicle anyway and losing the investments.

I don't know the truth, but I think Tony realized this fact and is therefore selling before he puts even more money, time and patience into something he's not 100% enjoying. He has posted a few times already considering selling it; once you've made that step it's not easy to go back. This is especially true taking into consideration his past few chaotic months, where there are more important things than a car to put your life toward.

That being said, I'd jump at the chance to own any vehicle of his, as I am confident they were well maintained and maturely (though maybe not lightly, after all it's an SVT ) driven ...

If Tony is indeed selling his 'Tour, you can be sure that it is not a scam. I have spoken with him on these boards for over 3 years and got to know him at the '02 Nationals in Dallas. He takes care of his vehicles so you can be sure that you would be getting a nice ride. His loss would be your gain.

Thanks Keith and everyone else.

Yes I'm real. I've driven the car like three times in the past two months.

I don't need it, don't want it. I really will get some pix soon.

It's not visually perfect because it sat outdoors for 2.5 years, but mechanically sound.

I just want to simplify my life, humble myself, and move on.
You see, I'm a control freak. I give advice to those who don't want it. I tell total strangers (as well as my wife) what they should do.

I've done that here at CEG, and maybe I learned that habit here. At the risk of giving more unsolicted advice, I can testify from personal experience that it can ruin your relationships with others if they are the kind of person that doesn't take to that well.

So this is all part of my life 180. I'm trying to cut off those things in my life that may fuel that sort of behavior. My SVT and the CEG are a few of those things.

I'm trying to live this scripture as my life right now:

Quote:

James 1:19-20 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.

and

Quote:

Matthew 5:30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

While the second verse is written in the context of sexual sin, I do believe it applies in all areas of one's life, so I'm cutting off parts of my life that have encouraged me to be controlling and selfish.

My heart is somewhere else ladies and gentlemen, it no longer belongs to my car.

TB

Did you remove the _remove_me... part of the e-mail address that throws off the spam bots?

Let me check the ad to see that I didn't do anything stupid.
I do think there was a phone number in there as well, so you could just pick up the phone to see if I was real, rather than calling my character into question on a public board.

i saw the ad the other day myself...and if i could justify selling my jeep right now (and could get enough $$ for it to make it worth my while, and were willing to go through the hassle of selling a vehicle with a lien on it) - i'd probably be hopping a plane for st. louis right now.

sounds like a great deal, and i would definitely be inclined to trust mr. boner even having never met the man, simply based on his posts here and others' character witnesses as listed above and elsewhere.

That sounds like such a great deal. Maaaan oh man. I am flying to St. Louis to visit with my family and would love to drive that thing back to Maryland and let the wife and kids fly back. I guess I would be flying in a way...

I rank the jug with the man.

'nuff said.

In all seriousness, he's one of the veterans and a man I would trust without hesitation.
